If you struggle with stubborn breakouts, especially those painful under-the-skin pimples that seem to stick around forever, the De La Cruz Sulfur Acne Treatment 10% is the perfect product to try. Affordable with a super under rated ingredient like Sulfur was a pleasant surprise when trying this product out.
The versatility of Sulfur is not talked about enough in the skincare community. It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is especially effective at drying out active acne without irritating the surrounding skin. The formula is free of parabens, fragrances, and artificial colors, making it a solid choice for sensitive skin
… BUT
I used this product mainly as a mask, if used as spot treatment on active acne, I ended up with my acne and surrounding skin aggravated with inflammation and redness. For someone who has pretty sensitive skin, I was unable to use this product for spot treatment for active acne or scars.
How to Use
Below are 2 main methods you can use this product for:
- Mask
- Spot treatment
As mentioned above, spot treatment didn’t work for me since I have sensitive skin although this product is advertised to be as a spot treatment ointment. This might work well for you but would test a very small area first to see your reactivity.
For masking, after cleansing you face you can apply a thin layer all around your face and neck. I believe this product tends to work better after steaming your face or taking a shower. The creamy yellow texture applies smoothly onto the skin and does have a sulfur smell to it but you get quickly used to it/fades away. After washing off, you can end up with an eggish smell on the face that eventually becomes completely unnoticeable.
I tend to be able to use this everyday after my shower to treat any inflammation or even for just maintenance. If you do happen to notice dryness due to using to frequently, try cutting down to only 2 -3 times per week.
Sulfur is a pretty safe ingredient to work with and is also fungal acne safe but finding the best balance of use thats based on your own skin is always the best way to go.
